Scare Kids

Hello and welcome to my game, Scare Kids,  for the Scream Jam 2025. This is my first game jam and first "real" game that wasn't a school project or something. I am a beginner solo developer that was under a time limit, ofc I used AI to help with the project and tutorials online. I was a little confused about the gen AI policy so this might be disqualified from the game jam. Even if it is, I learned a lot this past week either way so im happy with myself! This was fun to make. On the topic of fun, this game is kinda fun, I put so much effort in it lol. This game is pretty much complete, If I wanted to I can go back and add a story line and more animations but we'll see. Enjoy.

How to play:

-The Objective of the game is to scare the 3 different types of Kids (Ghost, Pitch Fork, and Pumpkin) to get their candy and avoid scaring the Parents OR getting caught by a Parent scaring a Kid. You'll know when a Parent sees you because they get angry for a second before passing you and going about their day. If you are neck and neck between scaring a kid and being caught, as long as you scare the kid before you hear the detection sound and see the parent's animation change, you'll be fine.

-To scare a kid, Press E.

Lore:

-Its Halloween night and -A "figure" wants- you to go out and scare little kids out of their candy -for him or he will send you to the cellar-.

The bits inside the dashes "- -" were my ideas for the lore that didn't make it into the game for the most part, the "figure" is seen in the menu and game over screens but...that's it, I wanted it to be an integral part of the game with it having its own opening cut-scene or something.  I left it in because its more or less relevant.
